I don’t know about you, but 2021 definitely seems to have turned out a lot different than I had imagined. I’m grateful that there finally seems to be a  light at the end of the tunnel.

No matter the season you’ve walked through this year, I hope you hold onto the truth that God is for you. However, if you’re somewhat like me, you might also struggle with a mixed bag of emotions that new seasons bring.

There’s a joy and excitement of what is to come, but many of us can carry grief and disappointment that comes with another year passing by, and the promises of God that have not yet come to pass.

It can be a real struggle and I think it is so important to recognise and validate those feelings. Yet, God calls us not to dwell there.

Instead, while another year is drawing to a close, know that there is hope. Know that God is a promise keeper and every promise He makes He will fulfil, even if we don’t understand the outcome.

Psalm 145:13[c] (NLT)

The Lord is trustworthy in all he promises and faithful in all he does

If you’re questioning God’s capabilities of keeping His promise to you, hold on to this verse and let it speak life and hope into your circumstances today.

Remember, the character of God never changes. He is the same yesterday, today and forever.

Sometimes we all need a little reminder about God’s character, so here are some truths which I would love to share with you today.

God is a Promise Maker

Numbers 23:19 (NIV)

“God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfil?”

Out of His love for us, God gives us so many promises throughout the Bible and personally as we seek Him and develop our relationship with Him. When God makes a promise, it’s His very nature to keep it. He does not lie, He cannot lie, and all that He promises will be accomplished because of His sovereignty.

God is Trustworthy

1 Thessalonians 5:24 (NIV)

“The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.”

We can trust God completely that He will fulfil His promise to us. Often, it might mean we need to let go of our idea of how it should look, BUT, He will always come through. He has already fulfilled His greatest promise to us by sending Jesus to die on our behalf, so that we can have eternal life. If out of His love for us, He fulfilled that promise, what makes you think that He won’t fulfil His others?

God is Faithful

Deuteronomy 7:9 (NIV)

“Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.”

In all He does and in all He is, God is faithful. Always. Even when we’re not, He is faithful. Even when we fail, He is faithful. He is devoted to us and the promises He has made to us are everlasting.

Friend, God is faithful and true to His Word today. He will do what He says He will do, and that is something we can confidently be sure of now and forever.

Have a beautifully blessed week,
